Psalm 6 is a heartfelt prayer by King David when he was in distress. He cried out to God, asking for mercy and deliverance. This chapter shows us that even the strongest among us, those who appear well-dressed, successful, and living in luxury, may be going through unimaginable battles. Some people look fine on the outside, but inside, they are broken, thinking of giving up on life. The reality is that life is full of hidden struggles, and unless we seek God’s intervention, the enemy will continue to manipulate situations against us.
The scripture says in Psalm 6:1-2, “O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.” David knew he was weak, and he called on the Lord for healing. Sometimes we, too, feel weak, overwhelmed by challenges, but it is important to cry out to God in those moments because He hears us.
David continued in Psalm 6:3-5, “My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long? Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake. For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?” He was weary, exhausted from the battles surrounding him, and pleaded for God to rescue him. Many of us have been in a place where we feel overwhelmed by troubles, crying out, “Lord, how long will this last?” We need to understand that the enemy is always plotting, planning ways to bring us down, trying to snatch away our peace, joy, and even our lives. But we serve a God who does not sleep nor slumber, and if we call upon Him, He will surely come to our rescue.
David described his deep sorrow in Psalm 6:6-7, “I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.” He cried so much that his bed was drenched with tears. There are people today who cry themselves to sleep, feeling like there is no way out. But I want to tell you today that God sees your tears. He hears your prayers, and He will answer you just as He answered David.
In Psalm 6:8-10, David declared, “Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer. Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.” This is the confidence we have in God, that when we pray, He hears us. Every enemy that has plotted against you, every unfriendly friend that has smiled in your face while working behind your back, God will expose them.
Many times, we trust people, thinking they mean well for us, only to realize that they were the ones working against us. Some people have lost their marriages, lost their jobs, and suffered financial setbacks because they listened to the wrong advice from people who pretended to care. That person who told you to leave your husband or wife, where is she today? The one who encouraged you to make that wrong decision, where is he now? The devil has planted agents around us, people who come as friends, colleagues, or even family members, but their mission is to scatter and destroy.
The Bible says in Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The enemy is constantly working behind the scenes, trying to manipulate things in the spirit realm before they manifest physically. Some people suddenly lose everything—not because it just happened that day, but because the enemy had been plotting for a long time. That sudden job loss, eviction, or unexpected attack didn’t start the day it happened; it was planned in the realm of the spirit long before. But today, I declare that every wicked plan against you will be destroyed in the name of Jesus!
There are people who come around you, bringing gifts and pretending to support you, but they are actually monitoring your progress. Some of them take things from you, use them for evil, and bring them back. This is why we must be spiritually aware and prayerful. The Bible says in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Many are suffering today simply because they are not aware of the devices of the enemy.
We must stop running from one place to another looking for prophets to tell us what to do. Some of these so-called prophets will tell you to use candles, to kill animals, or to perform rituals, but all they are doing is leading you deeper into spiritual bondage. Isaiah 8:19 says, “And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God?” You don’t need to go to people who practice divination. You don’t need a witch doctor disguised as a prophet. You only need to call on Jesus, for He has already made a way for you!
This morning, we are going to pray and declare that every enemy working against us will be exposed and put to shame. Every monitoring spirit, every agent of darkness pretending to be a friend, let them be scattered in Jesus’ name. Some of you will notice that after deep prayer, certain people will suddenly turn against you for no reason. Do not be afraid, do not try to hold on to them—God is simply exposing those who have been working against you.
I declare today, every wicked force operating in your life, be scattered in Jesus’ name! Every hidden enemy, be exposed and silenced! Every power contending with your destiny, be destroyed! May the Lord arise and fight for you! Psalm 68:1 says, “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered: let them also that hate Him flee before Him.”
As you pray, believe that God has heard you, just as He heard David. The Lord has received your supplication, and He will answer you. Every enemy standing against you will be ashamed and removed suddenly in the mighty name of Jesus! Hallelujah!
