Yahweh which means (LORD) is found in many different passages of the Bible such as Exodus 3 verse 14 This is the most sacred name of God in the Old Testament, often rendered as "LORD" in English translations. It represents the divine name revealed to Moses!
Elohim - (Creator) - This name for God is used in the context of His power and might. It is found in the very first verse of the Bible: Genesis 1 verse 1 which speaks of God the Creator the same God who created the heaven and the earth and every living thing both in the earth and under .
Adonai (Lord) - before you can know God He must first be your master and the Lord of your life. This title is used to show God's lordship and sovereignty. An example can be seen in Psalm 135 verse 5. Which reads, "For I know that the Lord is great and that our Lord is above all gods". Psalm 135:5 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ – Matthew 7 verses 21 to 23
Jehovah Sabaoth - (Lord of Hosts) - Man is a physical being but the greatest enemy we have is spiritual and he is constantly attacking us but the Lord has promised to fight on our behalf when we release our prayers! With the host of heaven in heavenly places He will defend you! Those that are with us is more than our enemies!
El Shaddai - (All-Sufficient One) - His grace is sufficient for us for there is no desire, need, or weakness that cannot be fulfilled or provided for by God Himself.
El Elyon - (The Most High God) - He is more powerful than any satellite man could ever create and launch into space, there is no comparison. This title highlights God’s supremacy and sovereignty. That man may know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other, The One forming light and creating darkness, causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the Lord who does all these. Isaiah 45 verses 6 to 7
El Olam (The Everlasting God) - This name reflects God's eternal nature. It can be found in Isaiah 40 verse 28 El Olam God has paid the ultimate price with His son Jesus to pay the penalty for our sin so that we may inherit eternal life together with Him. This is who we are in Christ. If He has already provided for us in this way, we can be confident that He will continue to provide for our every need.
Jehovah Jireh - (The LORD Will Provide) - This title is revealed at the time of God's provision for Abraham in Genesis 22:14
Jehovah Rapha - (The LORD Who Heals) God gave His only Son Christ Jesus not only to provide for us materially but most importantly to provide our greatest need of salvation and to heal our greatest brokenness sin. Our Jehovah Rapha sent His Son to heal the devastating effects of sin and restore our broken relationship with Him. And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord, am your healer.” Exodus 15:26
Jehovah Nissi - (The LORD Is My Banner) - This title is a declaration of God’s leadership and protection under God’s banner, we move from victory to victory. “Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” 1 Corinthians 15 verse 57
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this in a book as a memorial and recite it to Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.” Verse 15 Moses built an altar and named it The Lord is My Banner; Verse 16 and he said, “The Lord has sworn; the Lord will have war against Amalek from generation to generation.” – Exodus 17:14-16
Jehovah Shalom (The LORD Is Peace) -This name of God was revealed to Gideon, as recorded in Judges 6:24
Jehovah Rohi - (The LORD Is My Shepherd) - This reflects God's guidance and care, famously used in Psalm 23 verse 1
Jehovah Tsidkenu - (The LORD Our Righteousness)- This name is particularly used in Jeremiah 23 verse 6, speaking of God's provision of righteousness. There is nothing neither you nor myself can do to earn our righteousness NOTHING! The only righteous one is God. He alone is righteous. A person is only made righteous when that person confesses their sins and accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord God and Savior. He is the only way to forgiveness and salvation.
Jehovah Mekoddishkem - (Lord Who Sanctifies) - When we use the word Sanctify it is just a fancy name used to describe one as being ‘set apart’ or ‘to make holy’, It is God who sanctifies us and He is the one who continues the work in our hearts to set us apart and make us more holy like His son Jesus and more like Himself.
“But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you. – Exodus 31:13
Jehovah Shammah (The LORD Is There) - This name is seen in Ezekiel 48:35, reflecting God's presence.
